The Gateway to the Presidio is a landscape located in close proximity to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The design is a translation of the typical San Francisco street grid, distorted based on the existing landscape. The project features a visitor center, with views overlooking the bay. It maximizes walkable outdoor space, immersing the visitor in nature.
Developed site by overlaying the standard grid of San Francisco with nodes of activity
Connects the to the city improve walkability and integrate the visitor center to the existing infrastructure.
The Presidio is a National Park. The design intent is to create a continuation of greenspace into the visitor center.
