The Slanguage Project is a community arts center located in the gentrifying neighborhood of Echo Park in Los Angeles, focused on revitalizing the existing neighborhood and creating a sense of place through unification of old and new communities. The intent of the center is to encourage neighbors to hone their creativity.

Overall intent of design to intermingle multiple circulation paths through studio spaces. The design utilizes a terraced landscape to allow public circulation throughout the site, and provide large gathering

areas where the public would interact with the slanguage studio program. The site slope also serves to frame studios to the community for viewing.
