Located in the historic Theater district of downtown Los Angeles, this charter high school would serve the purpose of providing students with practical skills while allowing them to their passions. Being in the Los Angeles Fashion District, this location would allow for a student interested in fashion design and production to take full advantage of his or her surrounding resources.

The LA School of Fashion Design is intended to encourage creativity for not only the students, but also the community at large. The school does this by maximizing visibility of the exhibition spaces from the public way. The triangulation of the outdoor space serves as a buffer between the street and the school, and provides a viewing platform for shows in the exhibition spaces or multipurpose hall. The rest of the program, including classrooms, administrative offices, a library, and the cafe, create a literal frame for the spaces intended for showcasing students’ work.
